Followed a story about a CANG rescue of campers trapped by the Creek fire.

Besides the issue of 102 passengers in the Chinook, I was
curious about one aspect of the aircraft.
On the aft area of the fuselage, there are 2 rectangles on
each side that resemble giant 6-pin DIP sockets. What's their
function?
