Has anyone around here read the Mickey7 book(s) or seen the Mickey 17 movie?

Seems like it might be interesting or humorous type of "sad-sack" guy.

Now experience where the hit movie from Academy Award-winning director
Bong Joon Ho, starring Robert Pattinson, started in Mickey7 (the
inspiration for the film Mickey 17).

Dying isn’t any fun…but at least it’s a living.

Mickey Barnes is an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human
expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there’s a
mission that’s too dangerous—even suicidal—the crew turns to Mickey.
After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his
memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his
deal…and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it.

A review of the movie was in my local paper:

"He’s a well-meaning loser with few meaningful job prospects on Terra.
So he signs up for what he hopes will be an off-planet career upgrade,
and, well — Sigh! — one should really read the fine print before signing
on the dotted line."

The "Highlander" TV series on Heroes & Icons explored what it meant to be
unkillable more intelligently than the (awful) movies did. Duncan was
extremely carefree, even goofy, for his first few hundred years. Episodes
that ignore the "there can be only one" theme can be pretty good, such as
one about Bonnie Prince Charlie that repeats a scene from several people's
viewpoints showing him noble at first and degenerating to a drunk, all with
the same dialog.
