The idea of the Hs 295 was to have a missile with more punch and more
pk than the Hs 293.
If this missile hit well ahead of the waterline it would burrow
through and detonate under the ship.

The shape of this missile is the same as the BT1400

This was aimed by the TSA2D toss bombing gunsight/bombsight ahead of
the waterline.

The missile would then burrow through the water and detonate either on
impact or hydrostatic pressure fuze.

You know I love the footage of the Fw-190 and the SB 800RS Kurt rocket
spinning bomb. Why was that not developed instead of all the ASMs? The
Fw-190As and Fs could have carried them and hit parked warships or
attacked those within range of France or Germany (Baltic). Or maybe
similar dams in Russia???

Again the info is spotty b/c many sites claim only two were built.
Wrong as two alone of the rocket spinning type were dropped from a
Fw-190 (one can see the footage in a BBC series VHS tape on "The
Science War") while others were dropped from the Me-410!!!
