A kite appears to have hit a passenger jet as it flew near Ronald Reagan
Washington National Airport on Saturday afternoon, United Airlines said.

The airline said it was aware of reports that a kite hit United Flight
654, and that the flight from Houston landed safely.

"Customers deplaned normally," it said, "and upon inspection there was no
damage to the aircraft."

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department, which
patrols Reagan National and Dulles International Airport, said a kite was
"briefly confiscated" from someone in Gravelly Point because it was flying
in restricted airspace.

"Kite-flying is prohibited at Gravelly Point due to low-flying aircraft
landing at DCA," the department said in a statement.

Is THAT all it takes, a fuckin' little KITE ? If so
air-travel is WAY less secure than they want everyone
to believe.

Hmmm ... a cloud of AI threat-interceptor drones
around every big airport ? That WILL take a dedicated
team - meaning "more govt", kinda the antithesis of
the current drive. Doesn't have to be a huge team
however ... maybe three actives, three shifts, and
one boss per shift. How many "big airports" ? Ten ?
Maybe fifteen ?

Be it kites or balloons or little drones, the tech
is with the terrorists these days. Gotta turn
that around. Sorry ... reality .....

"Loss of confidence" in air travel/transport would
be a HUGE deal these days.

Did you see the damage a drone did to a water dropping plane in
California?

I think it's this model or similar. Not very big.
